That is what most of us moms inwardly screaming as we cart the kids off to school, trying to remember if this is the day that you were supposed to bring three bags of unopened baby carrots and two stick of glue for the some random class project.
Seriously, right now there is a mom trying to fold laundry while her three year old jumps up an down on the laundry pile making a simply chore take 3 hours.
So silently and sometimes not so silently we scream for a break. A pause. A vacation. But we never do it because that would be taboo right?
Well I did it.
Yes. You read that correctly. I bit the bullet and I finally pulled myself away and took a mom break.
3 days. No Kids. Just me and my best girls and a way over packed suitcase.
But let’s be honest. It took a lot of anxiety and stress to get me there.
I never thought I would be one of those moms to take a vacation without my kids. I mean at the end of the day I am simply a home body and the idea of travel gives me anxiety. And also, I really love my munchkins and my hubby is really one of my best friends so the idea of a girls trip seemed farfetched to me.
So the idea of having to pack and push back the guilt of leaving my husband and kids to fend for themselves left me half near crazy.
Who does that?
Well I did and I regret absolutely NOTHING!
3 Days spent with my best friends was the most relaxing idea of a vacation and it seemed that time slowed down and I was able to breathe. For a couple of days I was able to re balance and exist in my own realm. No one called me mom and I did not have to ask any of my friends if they washed their hands after going number two. Secretly, I think that was the best part of the trip.
So if you are a mom questioning if you should... or if you can. The answer is yes and you must.
Here are a few pics of the fun I had.
